Leading up to the start of the 2009 Florida track and field season, a number of the Gators' student-athletes will be profiled on GatorZone.com. Today's Q&A is with sophomore sprinter Daniela Griffin.
Name: Daniela Griffin
Nickname: Griff, Ms. Duval, “D”
If you could go back in time, what would you want to do or see? I wouldn't want to go back, even if I could, because everything happens for a reason.
What is your greatest fear? Failure.
What is your favorite thing about yourself? My personality. No one could ever possess the personality that I have because I'm different.
What was your first job and did you like it? Working at the Teacher Supply Depot for the Duval County Public School Board. It wasn't bad, but I did have to do a lot.
What is the best thing you did this summer? Spent time with family and friends.
What would the title of your autobiography be? It Is What It Is.
If your room were on fire, what would you grab on the way out? My photos!
What is your best non-athletic talent? Singing and drawing.
The best part of Florida track and field is: Team unity, togetherness and the coaches.
What is your dream vacation? Jamaica or Africa.
What is your favorite spot on campus? Coach Welty's office and my room.
What do you like to collect? I used to collect Polly Pockets, but now I collect tags off all my urban clothes.
What was the first thing you owned that said Florida on it? A Florida track and field media guide and questionnaire.
What is the word or phrase that you most overuse? I guess, oh really.
