No. 4/15 T&F To Split Squad For Pair Of In-State Meets
Wednesday, March 26, 2008 | Track and Field
The No. 4 (men)/No. 15 (women) University of Florida track & field team will split up this weekend to compete in a pair of meets being held at opposite ends of the Sunshine State. One UF contingent will head to Tallahassee for the second time in as many weeks to take part in the Florida State Relays, while another collection of Gators will represent the program at the Hurricane Challenge in Miami.
The Florida State Relays will kick off at 11 a.m. ET on Thursday with the opening events of the decathlon, while the single-day Hurricane challenge will commence at noon on Saturday with the men's hammer throw. Live results from both meets will be available via www.GatorZone.com.
UF kicked off the 2008 outdoor campaign in fine fashion last weekend at the Snowbird Invitational, also hosted by Florida State at the Mike Long Track & Field Complex. The Gators picked up 11 event wins and nine NCAA regional-qualifying marks, while freshman Rebecca Lowe (Vancluse, Australia) and junior Adam Montague (Townsville, Australia) were named Southeastern Conference Female Runner and Male Field Athlete of the Week, respectively, for their efforts.
