Men's Tennis Defeats Arkansas, 5-2

The eighth-ranked University of Florida men's tennis team earned its fourth-straight conference victory as the Gators worked their way past Arkansas, 5-2, Friday afternoon in Fayetteville. UF moved to 11-4 on the year and 6-1 in Southeastern Conference play, while the Razorbacks fell to 10-9 overall and 2-5 in the league.
Florida swept the doubles courts for the fourth time this year to get the 1-0 lead. At the top of the order, Jeff Dadamo and Greg Ouellette defeated Blake Strode and Matt Hogan, 8-3. UF's Nestor Briceno and Alex Lacroix teamed to take out Colin Mascall and Dmitry Lebedev, 8-2, to give the Gators the point. Tyler Hochwalt and Geoffrey Barton edged Taylor King and Chris Nott on court three, 8-7 (2).
In singles play, UF got off to a fast start by taking the first set on five of six courts. However, Arkansas got back into the match by winning five of the second sets and a third set determined the outcome at each spot in the order. UF also moved to 9-0 on the year when winning the doubles point.
After Arkansas got a 2-1 lead with wins on five and six, Florida won each remaining match to secure the victory. Briceno evened things with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 showing over Colin Mascall on court two and (No. 53) Alex Lacroix gave the Gators the lead for good by defeating Matt Hogan on court three, 6-4, 6-7 (7), 6-1.
Ouellette (No. 3) clinched the win on court one by defeating (No. 90) Strode (6-1, 5-7, 6-2). With the victory, Ouellette improved to 14-6 on the year against ranked opponents.
Dadamo added to the Gator point total by holding off Dmitry Lebedev on court four (6-3, 6-7 (6), 7-6 (2),
Florida completes the weekend with its final regular season road match of the year at No. 19 LSU on Sunday at 1 p.m.
