The University of Florida track & field team garnered three NCAA regional-qualifying marks and won five events on the final day of the Twi-Light Invitational, concluding its final tune-up before next week's Southeastern Conference Outdoor Championships.
Sophomore Shara Proctor (The Valley, Anguilla) led off the day for the Gator women with a personal-best mark of 13.28m/43-7 to place third overall and top the collegiate field, improving her hold on second place in the UF outdoor record books. Later in the afternoon, freshman Daisy Glasser (Atlantic Beach, Fla.) won the women's pole vault on Saturday with a clearance of 3.95m/12-11.50 to round out Florida's field-event lineup, picking up her second victory in as many weeks by four inches over the runner-up finisher.
The senior quartet of Abigail David (Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago), Lakecia Ealey (Albany, Ga.), Dominique McLeggan (Weston, Fla.) and Natalie Knight (Snellville, Ga.) kicked off the day's running events with a 1.37-second win in the women's 4x100m relay, registering their second-best time of the campaign. David, Ealey, senior Zan Joseph (Boynton Beach, Fla.) and McLeggan closed the meet on a high note for the Gators with a regional-qualifying time of 3:34.38 in the 4x400m relay to capture runner-up honors.
David captured an individual win at the midpoint of the day's action when she ripped off a career-best and NCAA regional-qualifying time of 23.96 in the 200m, giving UF three women with regional credentials in the event this season. McLeggan also picked up an individual regional mark on Saturday with a third-place time of 53.62 in the 400m, matching her year-old PR in the process.
Senior Wes Stockbarger (Port Charlotte, Fla.) was the first Gator to compete on Saturday, and opened the afternoon in style with a winning toss of 18.71m/61-4.75 in the men's shot put.
