Briceno Ends Run In NCAA Men's Tennis Singles Draw

Tulsa, Okla. – University of Florida men's tennis senior Nestor Briceno's (Pembroke Pines) collegiate career came to a close as he was defeated in the Round of 32 in the NCAA singles draw at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla., Thursday.
Briceno (No. 52) nearly overcame a 5-2 deficit in the third set, but was edged by Pepperdine's 37th-ranked Bassam Beidas, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5. On Wednesday, Briceno made his first career appearance in the event with a victory over Texas' 10th-ranked Dimitar Kutrovsky, 6-4, 7-6 (4).
Briceno finished with 105 career singles wins, which is fifth all-time. In addition, his 171 combined wins matched former Gator Olivier Levant for seventh on the UF charts.
