The pursuit of the 2008 WNBA title continues for former University of Florida All-Americans DeLisha Milton-Jones and Murriel Page, who are teammates again with the Los Angeles Sparks.
The Sparks upset second-seeded Seattle, winning game 3 in the best of 3-game series. On Thursday, Los Angeles looks to upend top-seeded San Antonio in the first game of the Western Conference Finals. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. EST, and will be televised nationally on NBA TV and in Los Angeles on KMYS.
Game 2 of the three-game series will be played in San Antonio on Sat., Sept. 27 at 3 p.m. EST. The Silver Stars would also host the deciding third game on Sun., Sept. 28, if it is necessary.
Milton-Jones started all three playoff games against Seattle, contributing 8.7 points and 4.7 rebounds. This season, she is averaging 13.9 points and 6.3 rebounds, starting all 31 games she has played for the Sparks. Page also played in all three 2008 Conference Semifinal playoff games, coming off the bench to provide support in the paint.
Milton-Jones, who was a member of the 2000 and 2008 Gold-Medal-winning U.S. Olympic Teams, will look to add a third WNBA Championship ring to her finger. She was a member of Los Angeles' 2001 and 2002 titles teams. Page is aiming for her first WNBA Championship.
