GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida Head Women's Basketball Coach Tammi Reiss announced today that 5-11 guard Bailey Harris, who is graduating this spring as the career scoring leader at St. Mary's High School (Annapolis, Md.), has signed with the Gators.
Harris led St. Mary's to a 19-5 record as a senior, capping her high school career by being named the 2026 Capital Gazette Girls Basketball Player of the Year for the second year in a row.
"I am so happy to welcome Bailey and her family to our Gators family," said Reiss. "Bailey is an incredible young woman who as a coach you want to have as part of your program when your building a team. She possesses every quality I look for in a player — high character, work ethic, relentless competitor, unselfish, great teammate, coachable, communicative. Bailey is a leader on and off the court.
"I have been recruiting her for years and am so happy she decided to join me in Gainesville, Bailey can really stretch the floor, and shoot the ball at an elite level. She can get to the rim and finish, and she has a great IQ and feel for making the right play. I know this for sure, no one is outworking Bailey in anything we do. That is what I want this program built on, and that is why I want Bay here."
She finished the season averaging a county and conference-leading 20.9 points per game to go along with 5.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.3 blocks. Harris also earned First Team All-County and First Team All-MET Baltimore honors for the fourth straight season.
Harris broke the school scoring record in late December of 2025, and finished her career with 2,023 points. For her career, Harris boasts averages of 20.9 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.5 blocks per game while connecting on 48 percent of her field goal attempts, and 75 percent of her free throw attempts.
