Florida wins on the road at Vanderbilt, 94-69

Sophomore forward Chandler Parsons (Casselberry, Fla.) hit seven 3-pointers, including his first five, and finished with a career-high 27 points as No. 24 Florida routed Vanderbilt 94-69 on Sunday.
Florida (17-3, 4-1 SEC) won for the 11th time in 12 games with the lone loss coming on a buzzer-beater at South Carolina on Wednesday night. The Gators more than bounced back by hitting a season-best 15 3-pointers.
Parsons only missed one shot on the afternoon, going 10-of-11 from the field, including seven of eight from beyond the arc. He also added eight rebounds in the game.
The Gators shot 55 percent from the field in the first half, including 66 percent (12-18) from beyond the 3-point line, to build a 56-37 lead at the break.
Freshman guard Erving Walker (Brooklyn, N.Y.) also scored a career-high with 17 points and chipped in six assists. Sophomore guard Nick Calathes (Casselberry, Fla.) added 15 points and senior guard Walter Hodge (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) had 10.
George Drake led Vandy with 14 points off the bench. Jermaine Beal had 13 and Jeffery Taylor 10. Preseason All-SEC center A.J. Ogilvy finished with four points and played only one minute in the second half.
Florida returns home to face Georgia on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 8 p.m. in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center. Next Saturday, Jan. 31, the Gators will travel to Knoxville to face Tennessee in a nationally televised game on ESPN at 9 p.m.
