Junior Alexandre Lacroix (Paris, France) of the Florida men's tennis team earned an at-large bid into the ITA National Collegiate Indoor Championships singles draw, the ITA announced on Friday. The 32-man tournament, considered the second leg of the collegiate Grand Slam, will take place Nov. 5-8 in New Haven, Conn., hosted by Yale University.
Lacroix, the 23rd-ranked player in the nation, put himself in position for consideration by advancing to the semifinals of the Southeast Regional Championships last weekend. This fall, Lacroix boasts a 10-2 record in singles play, including a 3-0 mark at the Gator Classic and a quarterfinal appearance at ITA All-American Championships earlier this month.
In addition to his singles appearance, Lacroix will team up with redshirt senior Antoine Benneteau (Boulogne-Billancourt, France) to compete in the doubles draw at the National Indoor Championships. The pair qualified by taking the Southeast Regional Championships, sweeping through with a 5-0 record to run their season mark to 8-0.
