University of Florida Ranks High in Recent Graduation Success Rates

Seven University of Florida athletic teams scored a perfect 100 percent Graduation Success Rate and the overall athletic program produced an 85 percent Graduation Success Rate in data released from the NCAA Wednesday November 18th.
Thirteen of 16 Gator athletic programs turned in a rate above the national Division I average and the overall athletic program was six points above the national average.

The Graduation Success Rate (GSR) is a NCAA measurement that improves on the federally mandated graduation-rate by including transfer data in the calculation. It was developed in response to college and university presidents who wanted graduation data that more accurately reflect the mobility among students in today's higher education climate.
“Seeing University of Florida student-athletes gain their degrees is one of our key missions. This report shows that overall our student-athletes are having success achieving that goal. We want all Gator teams to graduate at a high rate and we will continue to work with our student-athletes in their pursuit to earn their degree,” said Jeremy Foley, Athletics Director of the University of Florida.
The most recent Graduation Success Rates are based on the four entering freshmen classes in Division I from 1998-99 through 2001-02.
