GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Florida placed 54 student-athletes on the 2026 Southeastern Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll, announced Thursday by league commissioner Greg Sankey.
The 2026 SEC Winter Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2025 Spring, Summer and Fall terms.
Six from the SEC champion men's basketball team earned a spot on the Academic Honor Roll. Women's basketball placed two on the list.
Florida's women's and men's swimming & diving programs placed 18 and 15, respectively on the list.
The 13 gymnasts on the 2026 SEC Academic Honor Roll is one away from the program record set last year. For the sixth time in the last seven seasons, all gymnasts eligible earn a SEC Academic Honor Roll spot.

To be recognized to the SEC Academic Honor Roll, each student-athlete must 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letterwinner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship; 3) have completed 24 semester hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.

- Four turned in 4.0 grade point averages - gymnast Riley McCusker, diver Casey Greenberg, swimmers Camille DeBoer and Michaela Mattes.
- Rueben Chinyelu is the first Gator named the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year. Chinyelu joins Patric Young (2014) as the only players in SEC history to earn both SEC Defensive Player of the Year and SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors.
- Thomas Haugh (third team) and Rueben Chinyelu (honorable mention) were named to Associated Press All-America teams.
- Josh Liendo, winner of the 2026 NCAA 50 and 100 freestyle plus the 100 butterfly titles, shared the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Swimmer of the Year award. He also is the SEC Swimmer of the Year.
- Fifteen from Florida's swimming & diving teams earned 2026 All-America honors. Men: Eric Brown, Scott Buff, Devin Dilger, Conor Gesing, Jesus Gonzalez, Josh Liendo, Gio Linscheer and Alexander Painter. Women: Anita Bottazzo, Julie Brousseau, Catie Choate, Lainy Kruger, Michaela Mattes, Camyla Monroy and JoJo Ramey.
- Skye Blakely is the SEC Specialist Gymnast of the Year and Selena Harris-Miranda is the Woman's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Region 5 Gymnast of the Year.
- The four Gator gymnasts earning WCGA regular-season All-America honors also appear on the SEC Academic Honor Roll – Skye Blakely, Kayla DiCello, Selena Harris-Miranda and Riley McCusker.
- Two Gator swimmers receive post-graduate scholarships from the SEC: Gio Linscheer - $5,000 as a nominee for the Brad Davis Community Service Award. Eric Brown - $10,000 as a nominee for the SEC's Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship.
