Tuesday, March 17, 2026 | Men's Basketball
Florida's Thomas Haugh and Rueben Chinyelu earned recognition as Associated Press All-Americans on Tuesday, with Haugh named to the third team and Chinyelu an honorable mention.
Chinyelu is in the midst of the best rebounding season by a Gator in 50 years and has already been named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Year and Scholar-Athlete of the Year and an AP first-team All-SEC performer. Chinyelu's 18 double-doubles this season have tied Florida's single-season record, and his 136 offensive rebounds have set a program record.
Haugh adds to his All-America honors, having also been named second-team All-American by The Sporting News in addition to first-team All-SEC honors by both the AP and coaches. Haugh averages a team-leading 17.1 points per game on the Gators' SEC regular season champion squad, which is averaging the most points per game in team history (86.8).
The Gators open NCAA Tournament play on Friday in Tampa vs. either Lehigh or Prairie View A&M.
