Lady Gators Hit the Road for 2009 NCAA Zone Diving

Ten University of Florida divers hit the road Friday for the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships in Knoxville, Tenn. Six Lady Gators and four UF men qualified for the Zone Championships during the dual meet season. The meet, hosted by the University of Tennessee, will serve as the Gators' opportunity to qualify for the NCAA Championships.
For the 2009 NCAA Championship meet, 35 diving spots are available for the men's championships, and 41 for the women. Divers on both the men's and women's side will receive bids for the NCAA meet based on their finishes in each of the three events, the one and three-meter springboards and the platform. The winner of each of the three events receives an automatic bid to College Station, Texas, the site of both the men's and women's 2009 NCAA Championships.
Florida fans can track the meet live online HERE. A complete recap of each day's action can be found on www.GatorZone.com. Should a Gator qualify for NCAAs, they will join the squad of 18 UF women and 12 Florida men March 19-21 and March 26-28, respectively, for the NCAA Championship meet.
