No. 10 M-Tennis Sweeps No. 29 USC In Regular Season Finale

The 10th-ranked UF men's tennis team (16-7, 7-4 SEC) concluded its regular season in impressive fashion, sweeping No. 29 University of South Carolina (15-9, 3-8 SEC), 7-0, on Sunday. The victory marked the fourth sweep this season by the Gators and the first on the road.
Sophomores Jeff Dadamo (Tampa, Fla.) and Johnny Hamui (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) earned the first doubles victory of the afternoon after defeating Pedro Campus and Ivan Cressoni, 8-4, on court two. Freshman Carlos Cueto (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain) and sophomore Alex Lacroix (Paris, France) continued to play consistenly for the Gators, earning their 21st consectuive win as a doubles pair this season. The duo downed Joseph Veeder and Johannes Pulsfort, 8-6, to clinch the doubles point in favor of Florida.
With the 1-0 lead after doubles play, UF continued their momentum into singles, taking all six matches. Freshman Joey Burkhardt (St. Augustine, Fla.) was the first to record a win, taking out Ivan Machado, 6-1, 6-2, on court four. Dadamo only needed two sets as well, downing Cressoni, 6-4, 6-3, for his seventh-consecutive win. No. 30 Lacroix clinched the win for the Orange and Blue with a 6-3, 6-2, win over Campos on court two.
With the match already decided in Florida's favor, the squad continued to collect wins. Hamui defeated Pulsfort, 6-3, 6-0 on court five and was followed by Antoine Benneteau (Boulogne-Bilancourt, France). The redshirt junior fought a close first set, but took the victory in a tie break, 7-6 (6). With the first set on his side, he rolled to a 6-0 second set for the win.
With a 6-0 lead, No. 22 Cueto rallied back after dropping the first set, 4-6. The freshman took the second set against No. 55 Diego Cubas, 6-2, and won the third-set tie break 1-0 (10-6) to complete the Gators' sweep.
