Gator Growl Committee Announces O.A.R. as 2009 Musical Talent
Wednesday, September 2, 2009 | General
Of A Revolution, best known as O.A.R., has been selected as the 2009 Musical Act at Gator Growl, the nation's largest student-run pep rally, on Oct. 16th. The band has been around since 1996, and is widely popular among all age groups. O.A.R. is in a classical rock/pop rock genre, and all songs are appropriate for the entire family. Some of their more popular songs include Crazy Game of Poker, Hey Girl and Shattered. The quintet recently sold out Madison Square Garden, has done a number of widely successful charity concerts, played live for Fox's coverage of New Year's Eve 2009 in Times Square, and have been touring nationwide.
The Gator Growl staff is proud to present the final lineup for this year's show. The addition of O.A.R. to comedian Dana Carvey's Gator Growl headline promises to make the show, in matching with the theme, truly legendary. O.A.R. was a choice made to bring entertainment value to all members of the Gator community: students, faculty, and alumni.
This year's Gator Growl show is expected to bring in fans from across the state. Being a senior celebration, Gator Growl will honor Florida football's 2009 senior class, one of the best in college football history. Tickets are available online, and the pricing is at a fraction of what a normal ticket would be at either headlining name's performance. Even better, more big announcements about additional acts in the show should be expected this month. Gators, Gator fans, Florida residents, Carvey fans, O.A.R. fans, and anyone who enjoys a great night out are encouraged to come to the 2009 Gator Growl show!
Gator Growl will be the night of Oct. 16th at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
