W-Tennis Set to Compete at the Freeman Memorial Championships

Four members of the eighth-ranked University of Florida women's tennis team travel to Las Vegas to compete in the eighth annual Freeman Memorial Championships which begins Friday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex on the campus of UNLV.
UF seniors Marrit Boonstra and Anastasia Revzina, as well as sophomore Claire Bartlett and freshman Caroline Hitimana are slated to compete in the three-day individual tournament.
Action begins with doubles each day at 10 a.m. PST on Friday and Saturday, with the finals scheduled for Sunday. The event features two flights each of both singles and doubles, along with consolation rounds.
Eight different schools are sending athletes to compete in the field consisting of no less than 11 ranked singles players and two of the sport's top 25 doubles teams.
Boonstra, who is ranked No. 81 in the national singles listing, drew Oregon's Julia Metzger in the first round of the Flight 1 Singles event. Revzina, ranked No. 92 in the country, takes on Southern California's Cristala Andrews in the opening round, while Bartlett faces Arizona State's Nadia Abdala to begin her draw in Flight 1 action. Hitimana, who missed the fall season because of injuries, makes her collegiate singles debut in the Flight 2 draw against Oregon's Sabine Fuchs.
On the doubles court, Boonstra and Revzina pair and play Southern California's Cristala Andrews and Leyla Entekhabi, while Bartlett and Hitimana take on Stanford's Mallory Burdette and Stacey Tan in Flight 1 doubles action.
