Men's Tennis Pair Claims Doubles Title at SEC Indoor Championships
Monday, January 18, 2010 | Men's Tennis
University of Florida senior Antoine Benneteau (Boulogne-Billacourt, France) and junior Alexandre Lacroix (Paris, France) claimed the doubles title at the SEC Indoor Championships at the Racquet Club of the South in Norcross, Ga., with an 8-5 win over Georgia's Nate Schnugg and Jamie Hunt.
The nation's 10th-ranked doubles pair swept through the doubles draw with a 4-0 mark, building upon the 9-1 mark they compiled together in fall play. The SEC Indoor Championship title adds to the impressive array of doubles championships the two compiled in the fall, including the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, the Seminole Invitational in Tallahassee and the ITA Southeastern Regional Championships in Athens, Ga.
The No. 11 Gators now begin their dual match season, hosting the University of Central Florida on Friday, Jan. 22, at 3 p.m. at Linder Stadium at Ring Tennis Complex.
