Gator Baseball's Student Section Named Bleacher Creatures

The votes have been cast and the University of Florida students have selected “Bleacher Creatures” as the name of McKethan Stadium's student section. The name was selected from a list of finalists that included Alley Gators, Left Field Lizards, McKethan Maniacs, Raucous Reptiles and The Screwballs.
The winning entry was submitted by Alexander Pesci, a Master of Arts student studying International Business. Pesci will receive a baseball autographed by Head Coach Kevin O'Sullivan, Nike gear and will have the opportunity to throw out the first pitch prior to a game during the 2010 season.
UF students interested in joining the Bleacher Creatures can register on-line. UF students receive t-shirts courtesy of Cabana Beach Apartments, as well as special invites to student section only pre-game socials. Throughout the season members will also have a chance to win prizes just for wearing their student section t-shirts to the game.
The 2010 University of Florida baseball season begins Friday, February 19 versus USF at 6:30 p.m. at McKethan Stadium.
