Impressive Men's Tennis Run At ITA All-American Championships Ends
Saturday, October 9, 2010 | Men's Tennis
Florida men's tennis saw two impressive runs come to end on Saturday at the ITA/D'Novo All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., hosted by the University of Tulsa.
Senior Alexandre Lacroix (Paris, France) advanced to the quarterfinals of the national singles tournament for the second consecutive year before succumbing to Virginia's Alex Domijan, 6-3, 6-4. The loss was Lacroix's first of the fall season.
Lacroix and doubles partner junior Nassim Slilam (Paris, France), playing in their first national event as a doubles pair, later fell in the semifinals to Ohio State's Chase Buchanan and Blaz Rola.
The Gators are next in action from Oct. 21-25, as they host the USTA/ITA Southeast Regional Championships on their home courts at Linder Stadium at the Ring Tennis Complex in Gainesville, Fla. That event is an individual tournament featuring participants from schools of all divisions throughout Florida and Georgia. It will feed into November's USTA/ITA National Collegiate Individual Indoor Championships at the Billie Jean King National tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.
