
Gators Add Seventh to 2011-12 Signing Class

The University of Florida softball team added a seventh player to its 2011-12 signing class Friday, as Florida native and Middleburg High School (Fla.) product Briana Little signed a national letter of intent to join the Gators' squad next season, head Florida softball coach Tim Walton announced Friday afternoon.
Little joins Floridians Alyssa Bache, Bailey Castro and Sami Fagan, as well as three out-of-staters, Jessica Damico (Missouri), Lauren Haeger (Arizona) and Katie Medina (California) to compose this year's signing class

Little, a Middleburg High School product, was named to the 2010 Florida Times-Union All-First Coast Softball Team last season and helped lead the 2009 Middleburg softball team to the District 4-5A Championship, as well as the Regional Quarterfinal Championship as the starting pitcher. She was named a 2008, 2009 and 2010 All Conference (St. Johns River Athletic Conference) selection. A three-sport athlete for the Broncos, Little was also a weightlifting All-Conference selection for the 2008-09 season, as well as being a member of the 2008 volleyball District 3-4A Championship team that advanced to the Sweet 16 Regional Semifinals. Little led the Middleburg volleyball team in attacks and kills that year. On the softball field, she owns a .558 on-base percentage, a .688 slugging percentage and has a batting average of .400. In the classroom, Little is a member of the student council, as well as the Spanish Honor Society, and currently ranks in the top 15 percent of her graduating class.
