Gator Nation Rocks On, Releases New Music

"You're In Gator Country", an album consisting of songs written specifically for the Gators and their fans, is now available for download.

GAINESVILLE, FL – With the "Pride of the Sunshine", "We Are the Boys", and "Mr. Two Bits", the Florida Gators have an athletic program filled with memorable cheers and music traditions. Now, with the release of original Gators music from some of the area's biggest bands, the list of traditions has only gotten bigger and better.

"You're in Gator Country: Official Music of the Florida Gators" is a seven-song release featuring new hits from area musicians that pay tribute to their favorite collegiate team.  Fans can find the album online now at iTunesAmazonMP3, and at GatorsMusic.com.  Headlining the list of contributing artists is Gainesville's own Sister Hazel, who perform the album's opening track: "This is Gator Country."

The action packed compilation picks up the pace even more with its debut single (and second track), "Gators on Top of the World."  Elias Soriano, lead vocalist of the band Nonpoint, performs the song.  Nonpoint formed in Fort Lauderdale, FL in 1997 and has toured with some of the biggest names in hard rock.  The single initially premiered on the Gators Facebook page in October to its over 360,000 fans.

Not to be outdone, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus of Middleburg, FL, delivers the third track on the album, the alternative rocker, "I Come From the Swamp."

"We were really excited to be able to work with one of our favorite teams, especially here in our home state," said lead singer Ronnie Winter.  "I can't wait to hear the song blaring at a game the next time I'm in Gainesville."

Other highlights from the CD include the fun, family-friendly track, "Great to Be a Gator." The song is sure to be a hit among the school's youngest fans in particular, as the track will be used in association with the Gators Kids Club starting in 2011.

The music is already being played in-game and in-broadcast during Gators sporting events.  The intent is to establish new, unique audio content that celebrates and embraces Florida's rich history and heritage on the playing surface.

The release was produced by music branding agency Banshee Music, in partnership with Concord Music Group, and is officially licensed by the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC).
