Four Softball Players Picked to Preseason All-SEC Team

Four members of the No. 3/5 University of Florida softball team were named to the third annual All-Southeastern Conference preseason, the league announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Senior Francesca Enea (Woodland Hills, Calif.), juniors Stephanie Brombacher, Kelsey Bruder (Corona, Calif.) and Aja Paculba (Wildomar, Calif.) were named to the preseason team, voted on by the coaches, as Florida led the way with four selections. Alabama and Georgia each garnered two each. Paculba and Enea were also named to last year's preseason team.
All four Gators were 2009 NFCA/Louisville Slugger Second-Team All-Americans, while Paculba and Enea were also second-team All-Americans in 2008. The four were also named to the All-SEC team one year ago as Paculba and Bruder were first-team selections and Enea and Brombacher were on the second team.
The coaches preseason All-SEC team consisted of a minimum of 12 players. Each SEC head softball coach voted for four infielders, four outfielders, two pitchers, one catcher and one designed player/utility player. No ties were broken.
The Gators were picked to win the SEC East on Tuesday and earned three votes to win the title's title as Alabama garnered a league-high six votes. Florida opens the season on Friday, Feb. 12 against No. 13/14 Georgia Tech at 4 p.m. in Clearwater, Fla., at the USF Wilson-DeMarini Tournament.
