Former Gator Mesler on Cover of Sports Illustrated

Former Florida decathlete Steve Mesler (Buffalo, N.Y.), a member of the United States' 2010 Olympic Gold Medal bobsled team, and his teammates have garnered national attention for their feat and are featured on the cover of this week's issue of Sports Illustrated.
The 2000 Florida grad was part of the USA I team that became the first American four-man bobsled crew to capture Olympic gold in 62 years. It was 1948 at St. Moritz when the United States last won the event.
Combined time for the four runs was 3 minutes, 24.46 seconds, a whopping (by bobsled standards) 38 hundredths of a second ahead of the silver medal team.
