Tuesday, March 16, 2010 | Track and Field
The No. 1 Florida men's track and field team, fresh off the program's first-ever NCAA Indoor Championship, tied for the national lead in All-America honors, according to the list released by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Tuesday.
Florida's men racked up 14 All-America honors, to tie for the national lead with Oregon in that category.
Freshman sprinter Tony McQuay (Riviera Beach, Fla.) and senior sprinter Calvin Smith (Lutz, Fla.) each tied for the team lead with three All-America honors apiece. Both earned All-America recognition in the 200m dash, the 400m dash and the 4x400m relay.
Smith became Florida's all-time leader in career All-America honors this weekend as he now has 16 for his career. He surpassed Mike Morrison's 14 career All-America honors with his three this past week.
