Track and Field's Postin Breaks School Hammer-Throw Record

Redshirt Florida freshman Jeremy Postin (Andover, Kan.), whose indoor season was characterized by steady improvement, added another exclamation point on Friday, breaking the school record in the men's hammer throw. His record-setting performance highlighted the opening day of the UCF Invitational at Orlando, Fla.
In total, the Gators captured two event victories in the three events they participated in on Friday.
Postin captured the men's hammer throw with a personal-best toss of 59.90m/196-6. He broke the previous school record of 59.83m/196-3 set by Paul Szawranskyi in 1996. Teammate David Triassi (St. Johns, Fla.) placed third in the men's hammer throw with a collegiate-best toss of 54.49m/178-9.
Freshman pole vaulter Max Lang (Tallahassee, Fla.) picked up his first collegiate event victory, winning the men's pole vault with a collegiate-best leap of 4.72m/15-6. Teammate Eric Foran (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) was second in the men's pole vault with a leap of 4.57m/15-0.
Sophomore Gray Horn (Waynesfield, Ohio) placed second in the men's javelin with a personal-record toss of 47.90m/157-2.
The final day of the UCF Invitational commences at 9:30 a.m. ET Saturday at the UCF Track and Field Complex. Admission is free and open to the public.
