Lacrosse Ready to Host No. 8 Vanderbilt Sunday

The Florida lacrosse team is set to host their final home game of their inaugural season against No. 8 Vanderbilt on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Donald R. Dizney Stadium in a key American Lacrosse Conference matchup. Admission is free.
There are several promotions planned and fans are encouraged to come out and support the Gators as they honor their two seniors, Jesse Hogan and Kaley Pendley, in their final home contest.
Last weekend, Florida (9-5, 1-2 ALC) split two games on a road trip to upstate New York. After beating Le Moyne 15-3 a week ago, the Gators fell in double overtime at Colgate, 12-11. Vanderbilt (10-3, 3-0 ALC) enters the game on a nine-game winning streak after taking down Binghamton 23-11 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Gators are 7-1 at home this season and are outscoring opponents by 8.37 goals per game in Dizney Stadium. The Florida offense this season has been led by freshmen Ashley Bruns and Caroline Chesterman. The duo is the ninth-highest scoring tandem in the nation, combining for 104 total points.
The Commodores have been very consistent this season, scoring 10 or more goals in all but two games and averaging 17.1 goals in their 10 wins. They have four players with over 30 goals on the season, led by senior All-American Sarah Downing who has 32 goals and 24 assists on the season.
For fans that can't make it to the game, there are several options to follow along. The game will be streamed live on GatorVision Online and broadcast locally on WRUF AM850 radio. There will be live stats via GameTracker and scoring updates will be provided on Twitter by following GatorZoneLax.
Promotions for Sunday's game against Vanderbilt include:

· Middle-School/Youth Club Day - Youth teams can sign-up for the game by calling UAA Marketing at 1-800-34-GATOR ext. 6600. All kids, 8th grade and under, can take part in the fan tunnel for the Gators' starting line-ups (must arrive by 12:30 p.m.).
· UF Student Appreciation Day - UF students can sign-up at the game to win the following prizes: Television, iPod Stereo System, Gator SportShop gift certificates
· City of Gainesville Employees Day - The first 100 City of Gainesville employees to show a valid employee I.D. receive a free Gator Lacrosse t-shirt.
