Haley Hicklen Named East Carolina Head Coach

Hicklen spent two seasons in Gainesville as an assistant coach
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida Lacrosse Assistant Coach Haley Hicklen has been named the Head for East Carolina University, the school announced Tuesday.
Hicklen spent two seasons with the Gators, helping Florida reach a 35-7 record during her time as an assistant coach, along with two Big 12 conference champions and an NCAA Tournament Semifinal appearance in 2025.
During her two seasons with the Gators, the Towson, Md. native has coached the Gators goalkeepers, helping the unit finish 6th in the NCAA in save percentage (.499) in 2026 and 23rd (.464) in 2025. The past two season the Gators have held opponents to under 10 goals 23 times (11 times in 2025, 12 times in 2026) and a save percentage of .450 or better in 26 games (12 times in 2025, 14 times in 2026)
During her tenure, the Gators have had five goalkeepers finished with a save percentage of .460 or higher in Susan Radebaugh (.549 in 2026; .467 in 2025), Georgia Hoey (.479), Paige Crowther (.466) and Elyse Finnelle (.462).
Hicklen played for the Gators from 2016-2019, where she made 80 appearances in net, while posting a 48-15 record and is the all-time leader in minutes played (3868:27 minutes) and ground balls (194), along with ranking second all-time in saves (566. Hicklen returned to Gainesville after coaching at George Washington for one season and then at Pittsburgh for three seasons.
