Women's Tennis Earns Top Seed in SEC Tournament

The University of Florida will be the No. 1 seed in the Southeastern Conference Women's Tennis Tournament that gets underway on Thursday, April 22, at the Dan Magill Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Georgia.
The Gators (21-2) captured the overall SEC title, ending the regular-season with a perfect 11-0 record in league action.
Florida earned one of four first-round byes and begins tournament play on Friday, April 23, when the team faces the winner of the match between No. 8-seed LSU and No. 9-seed Alabama. The Gators sport a 22-0 all-time record in the quarterfinal round.
The Gators have won 15 of the 22 SEC Tournament titles contested, however, their last championship came in 2006. Georgia, the host of the 2010 SEC Tournament, is the three-time defending champion and has defeated Florida during each of those title runs.
Florida has advanced to the final of the SEC Tournament 20 times in the 22-year history of the event.
