Head Coach Tim Walton Addressed the Media on Tuesday
Monday, April 5, 2010 | Softball
University of Florida head coach Tim Walton addressed the media Monday morning as part of the Gators' All-Sports Media Day.
Coach Walton provided his assessment of last week's action, when the Gators went 4-0, defeating UCF in Orlando on Thursday in extra innings on freshman Brittany Schutte's ninth-inning home run. Florida went on to sweep No. 12 LSU, previously unbeaten in the SEC, over the weekend, winning the second game also in dramatic fashion as senior Corrie Brooks hit a walk-off homer. Freshman Ensley Gammel earned three of the Gators' four wins without allowing an earned run.
He then talked about this weekend's SEC road series at Arkansas, beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday, April 10 at 2 p.m. (ET). All three games will be broadcast on WYGC-FM 105 The Game and available on GatorVision Online.
Coach Walton also discussed and fielded questions about illegal pitches, on Gammel's growth as a pitch and hitter, on Tiffany DeFelice's injury, on Schute's impact, and on senior Francesca Enea and junior Aja Paculba.
