Senior Antoine Benneteau (Boulogne-Billancourt, France) has earned a place on the men's 2010 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III At-Large team, along with sophomore swimmer Teresa Crippen (Conshohocken, Pa.) and senior gymnast Rebekah Zaiser (Mars, Pa.) on the women's side. All three advance to the national Academic All-America ballot.
Benneteau is a 2010 All-American in doubles and a two-time All-Southeastern Conference selection. He opened the team season with seven consecutive wins and holds a 19-4 record in dual match play (8-2 SEC), largely at the No. 3 position. He has won nine of his last 11, including wins in each of the NCAA opening rounds. He and partner Alexandre Locroix have rolled up a 31-6 overall doubles record, including 19-5 in dual play. They are currently ranked eighth nationally and are the second duo in UF history to reach 30 wins together in a season. They will represent UF as a No. 5-8 seed in the 2010 NCAA Doubles Championships. Benneteau, a member of the 2009 SEC Academic Honor Roll, is pursuing a degree in management and owns a 3.67 grade point average.
The men's Academic All-America national team will be announced June 8, followed by the women's team on June 10.
