Florida's two entries at the men's tennis NCAA Individual Championships fell on Thursday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga., in the Round of 32 in their respective draws.
Alexandre Lacroix (Paris, France) dropped a hard-fought three-set match in the second round of the singles draw to Pepperdine's Bassam Beidas, 4-6, 7-5, 7-5. Lacroix closes his junior season with a 34-11 singles mark, which ties for the seventh-most singles wins in a season in UF history.
Later in the day, Lacroix and senior Antoine Benneteau (Boulogne-Billancourt, France) were defeated in the opening round of the doubles draw by Oklahoma's Andrei Daescu and Costin Paval. The Gator pair wraps up the season with a 31-8 record, and they became the second tandem in UF history to reach 30 wins together in a season.
