Women's Golf In Eighth Heading Into Final Round of NCAA East Regional

The University of Florida women's golf team is currently in eighth place after 36 holes at the NCAA East Regional. The squad shot a team score of 297 (+9) for a two-round tournament score of 581 (284-297, +5).
Freshman Mia Piccio (Bacolod City, Philippines) led the team for the second-straight day and is tied for 29th after two rounds. Piccio carded a four-over 76 on Friday and boasts a total score of 145 (69-76, +1). She tallied four bogeys on the afternoon.
After carding the low UF score on Thursday's first round, freshman Isabelle Lendl (Bradenton, Fla.) had the highest score of the day with a five-over 77. Her strong first round still has Lendl on the leaderboard tied for 35th. Joining her with a 36-hole score of 146 (+2) is Marika Lendl (Bradenton, Fla.). Marika matched her first round score of 73 (+1) on Friday. She made two birdies, a bogey and a double bogey on the afternoon.
Sophomore Evan Jensen (Bellaire, Fla.) is just one stroke away with a total score of 147 (+3) to tie for 44th. Jensen improved upon her first round score, carding a one-over 73 on day two. She finished the day with four birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey. Fellow sophomore Andrea Watts (Bradenton, Fla.) rounded out Florida's lineup, finishing the day in a tie for 55th with a total score of 148 (73-75, +4).
The Gators will tee off alongside seventh place Tulane and ninth place TCU beginning at 8 a.m. Florida must finish in eighth place or better to advance to the NCAA Championships. Live scoring will be available at www.GatorZone.com or www.golftstat.com.
