Horn, Taylor Pick Up Victories at NACAC Saturday

Sophomore Florida multi-event athlete Gray Horn (Waynesfield, Ohio) and sophomore jumper Christian Taylor (Fayetteville, Ga.) each picked up victories on Saturday at the 2010 North American, Central American and Caribbean Under-23 Championships at Ansin Sports Complex in Mirimar, Fla.
Taylor tied his personal-best jump in the men's long jump with a leap of 8.19m/25-8 (+0.0) on his second attempt to capture the event on Saturday. That also goes down as the second-best men's long jump in program history.
Horn captured two events (110m hurdles, pole vault) to highlight his overall win in the men's decathlon. Horn scored 7,510 points en route to the victory. He opened the day by winning the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 14.57 (-0.6), before placing second in the discus with a toss of 38.29m/125-7.
Horn then won the men's pole vault event with a leap of 4.60m/15-1, before placing second in the javelin with a personal-record throw of 52.27m/171-6. With the victory all but clinched, Horn ran a time of 4:37.73 in the 1,500-meter run.
