Van Overbeek, Bangoura Compete at Junior National Championships

Florida's Bob Van Overbeek (Boca Raton, Fla.) has advanced to the quarterfinals of the USTA Boys 18s National Championships, downing sixth seed Evan King of Chicago in straight sets on Wednesday.
Van Overbeek, the ninth overall seed, will face Clay Thompson of xxxxxx in the quarterfinal round. Van Overbeek is looking to improve on his 2009 showing, when he reached the quarterfinals.
Fellow Gator Sekou Bangoura Jr. (Bradenton, Fla.) also participated in the event, reaching the fourth round of the singles draw before falling in a three-set match to Marcos Giron. But on the doubles side, Bangoura has reached the semifinals following a runner up performance at last year's event.
