
Van Overbeek Falls in Singles Final at Kalamazoo

Bob Van Overbeek (Boca Raton, Fla.) came up just short in the USTA Boys National Tennis Championships in Kalamazoo, Mich., on Sunday, falling in the 18s singles final to Jack Sock, 6-2, 7-5, 6-4.
Van Overbeek advanced to the final as the No. 9 seeded player, while Gator teammate Sekou Bangoura Jr. (Bradenton, Fla.) bounced back from a fourth-round loss to win the feed-in singles draw with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Dennis Novikov.
Bangoura took the 18s doubles championship alongside Nathan Pasha, and the pair will receive a spot in the main doubles draw at the upcoming U.S. Open.
