Head Coach Roland Thornqvist Previews UCF, ITA Indoor Team Championships

University of Florida head coach Roland Thornqvist met with the media Monday morning as part of the Gators' All-Sports Media Day.
Coach Thornqvist previewed the upcoming slate for the women's tennis team as UF prepares to open the 2011 season. The Gators launch their 39th year of varsity competition playing host to UCF on Wed., January 26 beginning at 5 p.m.
The mid-week dual match opener isn't the only competition of the week for Florida, which next plays host to the first and second rounds of the ITA Indoor Team Championships, Jan. 29 & 30. Florida battles the College of Charleston on Saturday at 10 a.m., before Winthrop and Williams and Mary square off at 1 p.m. in the other first-round match in Gainesville. The losing teams play at 10 a.m. on Sunday, while the winners meet at 1 p.m. for the right to advance to the round of 16 held in Madison, Wis., Feb. 18-21.
