Nassim Slilam Drops First Round Match at ITA Men's All-American Championships

Senior Nassim Slilam (Paris, France) dropped his opening round match against Oklahoma's Guillermo Alcorta, 6-3, 6-4, in the Main Draw of the 2011 ITA Men's All-American Championships, hosted by the University of Tulsa.
Slilam was the only Gator to receive a bid in the Main Draw, but he wasn't fortunate enough to advance past the first round. In a consolation singles match, Slilam was forced to retire due to injury in the second set against Ohio State's Nelson Vick.
With Slilam's exit from the tournament, there are no Gators remaining in action at the ITA All-American Championships. Sophomore Spencer Newman (Miami, Fla.) and junior Bob van Overbeek (Boca Raton, Fla.) each advanced to the third round of the Qualifiers while junior Frank Carleton (Naples, Fla.) and junior Billy Federhofer (North Miami, Fla.) fell in the second round of the Qualifiers.
