
Florida Senior Golfer Bank Vongvanij Named to Ben Hogan Award Watch List

Florida Senior Bank Vongvanij (Bradenton, Fla.) has been named to the Ben Hogan Award Watch List, as announced by Golf Coaches Association of America on Saturday. The Hogan is presented annually to the top men's NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or NJCAA college golfer taking into account all collegiate and amateur competitions during a 12-month period.
Returning Hogan Award finalists Bud Cauley Alabama and Georgia's Russell Henley lead a contingent that includes NCAA medalist Scott Langley of Illinois and U.S Amateur Champion Peter Uihlein of Oklahoma State and runner-up David Chung of Stanford.
Vongvanij has led the Gators to three team wins in the 2010-11 season. He has finished fifth or higher in all five tournaments including two first-place finishes at the Isleworth Invitational and the JU Invitational and boasts a 69.9 stroke average in 15 rounds.
The Hogan Award will be announced Thursday, April 14. The three finalists will be invited to Colonial Country Club in Fourth Worth, Texas, for the Hogan Award presentation on the evening of Monday, May 16.
