Tuesday, May 19, 2026 | Men's Golf
Florida (-7) leads by 16-shots and are inside tomorrow’s championship cut by 28 shots as all five Gators are three or less strokes from the solo lead.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 ranked and No. 1 seed Florida men's golf team is in prime position for a sweep of the NCAA Columbus Regional at OSU Golf Club. All five Gators are three or fewer shots from the solo lead and UF continues to lead the field, increasing their advantage to 16-shots through 36-holes.
Florida remains the only team under par and owned the low round of the day, a 284 (E), to produce a 36-hole mark of 561 (-7). The round extended the streak of 10 straight par or better rounds (9 of last 10 under par) for a total of 21 in 31 rounds this season. All six postseason rounds have been par or better (-13, -11, -9, -7 & E). This was the seventh straight regional round even or better and the 12th in the last 14 rounds.
The Gators look to capture its eighth regional title in program history and back-to-back years for the first time in program history. A victory would also mark the sixth team win this season for the third time in the last four seasons. A projected 16-shot victory at the moment, it would be the biggest by a Gator team in regional history and in a tournament overall since 23 strokes at the Sea Best Invitational in 2023.
An individual victory would be the seventh regional title in program history and first since Andy Zhang in 2018 when UF swept both the team and individual titles. Others include, Brain Gay (1993), Brad Lehmann (1994), Camilo Villegas (2001) and. Billy Horschel (2006 & 2007).
After 54-holes, the top-5 teams and top individual on a non-advancing team earn spots into the NCAA National Championship (May 29-June 3) at Omni La Costa in Carlsbad, Calif. Florida is 28 shots inside tomorrow's championship cut and tee off the final 18-holes at 7:30 a.m.
Zack Swanwick led the lineup with a 2-under 69 to climb 17-spots up the leaderboard into T3 and even-par overall. He bounced back from a 73 (+2) in the opening round and made six birdies.
The second under par score was from Luke Poulter, who closed with a birdie on the 18th. In his second round, the junior made 15 pars, two birdies and one bogey while making 11 straight pars to start the day. He is one of three golfers to be under par through two rounds and is one back of leader Christian Morneau of Memphis in T2.
Florida's final two counting scores came from Matthew Kress (T7, +1) with a 72 (+1) and Jack Turner (T3, E) at 73 (+2). The non-counting score was from Parker Sands (76, +5), who is the third UF golfer to sit T3 at even-par.
