Among the University of Florida graduates walking across the stage this weekend to receive their diplomas are 32 current and former Gator student-athletes, including current women's basketball co-captain Jordan Jones (Suwanee, Ga.).
UF's spring commencement ceremonies, which will take place Friday, April 29 through Sunday, May 1, according to college assignment.
Jones, who transferred from South Carolina to UF following her freshman year, will have one season of collegiate ball remaining and plans to enroll in master's degree coursework in 2011-12. It will be the third consecutive season that a current member of the women's basketball team will have earned their undergraduate degree before completing their athletic ability and suit up while pursuing a master's degree.
A Business Administration bachelor's degree major, Jones has already made a huge impact on the Gator record book with still one season to go. In the career charts, Jones ranks No. 6 three-pointers made (127), No. 8 three-pointers attempted (389), tied-6th three-point field goal percentage (32.6%, 127-389) and No. 5 free throw percentage (78.9%, 105-133). Jones has compiled 49 career double-figure scoring games, including in six of the final seven games in 2010-11.

Mariam Kevkhishvili claimed the 2008, 2009, 2010 indoor and 2009, 2010 outdoor shot put titles, making her the second in NCAA history to earn five women's shot put wins. Calvin Smith, whose 18 All-America honors is the highest in Florida men's track & field history, anchored the Gators' 2009 NCAA 4x100-meter champion relay team. Stephanie Napier swam the third leg of Florida's 2010 NCAA 200-freestyle relay team.
Also among the Gators' spring graduates are two reigning Southeastern Conference players of the year – Chandler Parsons (men's basketball) and Bank Vongvanij (men's golf). Vongvanij also holds the distinction of earning the 2010 and 2011 SEC men's golf scholar-athlete award. Ali Crabb (track & field) and Michael Yuan (swimming) both will receive $7,500 from the SEC as Florida's nominees for the H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship. Another graduate, Riley Cooper, receives his degree after playing his first season with the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL) last fall.
