The Gators won the 2008 national championship by defeating Oklahoma at Sun Life Stadium in Miami.
Several members of that 2008 national title team are expected back to attend the inaugural Gator Day at Sun Life Stadium on Oct. 23 when the Dolphins host the Broncos – and quarterback Tim Tebow – later this season.
Former Florida coach Urban Meyer plans to attend if his ESPN schedule permits.
Dolphins CEO Mike Dee announced the event on Saturday during the telecast of Miami's 17-13 preseason loss to Tampa Bay.
Former Gators and Dolphins receiver Nat Moore spearheaded the project. The Florida band is scheduled at the event, as is Albert the Alligator.
