Van Overbeek, Diep and Doubles Tandem Advance at 2012 USTA/ITA Southeast Regional Championships

Two Florida men's tennis players advanced to the quarterfinals of the Singles Main Draw on Saturday at the 2012 USTA/ITA Southeast Regional Championships in Tallahassee. One pair of Gators advanced to the semifinals of the Doubles Main Draw.
Senior Bob van Overbeek (Boca Raton) and junior Florent Diep (Paris, France) advanced to the quarterfinals with two singles victories on Saturday. Senior Billy Federhofer (North Miami) lost in the round of 32. Sophomore Mike Alford (Tampa) and Diep paired together to advance to the semifinals of the Doubles Main Draw.
Alford and freshman Luke Johnson (Leeds, England) each won in the Consolation Draw round of 32, and Alford also won in the round of 16.
Play will continue tomorrow with the quarterfinals and semifinals in the Singles Main Draw and Singles Consolation Draw. The semifinals of the Doubles Draw will also be played on Saturday.
