
Gators Continue Play at USTA Clay Court Invitational at Disney

Four members of the Florida men's tennis team were in action on Saturday at the 2012 USTA Clay Court Invitational at Disney, hosted by Florida State. The event runs through Sunday at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex.
Redshirt freshman Thomas Proisy (Saint Nom La Breteche, France) fell in three sets in the quarterfinals of the Spear Draw, losing 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 to USTA junior Chase Perez-Blanco.
Senior Billy Federhofer (North Miami) bounced back after a first round loss to beat USC's Max DeVroome, 4-6, 6-2, 10-1, in a consolation match. Redshirt freshman Gordon Watson (Naples) dropped his consolation match to USTA junior Roy Lederman, 7-6 (4), 6-2. True freshman Luke Johnson (Leeds, England) lost to Columbia's Eric Rubin, 7-5, 6-7 (4), 10-4, in a consolation match on Saturday.
Both Gator doubles tandems lost in the quarterfinals of their respective draws. Federhofer and Watson were knocked out of the Gold Draw by Florida State's Benjamin Lock and Domonic Cotrone, 8-2. Proisy and Johnson lost to FSU's Andres Bucaro and Michael Rinaldi in the Garnet Draw, 8-2.
