#15 Sam Farrell
Jr. • Defense • 5-8
Millersville, Md.
Q: Now that you're an upperclassman and the team has been together for a few years, how do you think the team has grown?
Our team has grown so much and our chemistry now is better then ever. The majority of us have been together for three years now and we really know each other's strengths and weaknesses. We are constantly working hard for each other and getting better each day. We are like a family now.
Q: What are your personal goals for the season? What do you see as the team's goals?
My number one goal this year, as well as our team goal, is to work hard every day to help lead our team to a National Championship.
Q: What is your favorite thing about being a Florida Lacrosse player?
I absolutely love my teammates; they are all my best friends. We have the privilege of being coached by amazing coaches and we also have the most incredible fans that I don't think would be found at any other school.
Q: What are some of your favorite non-lacrosse things to do in or around Gainesville?
Lay by the pool, of course! Being in Florida, we really take advantage of the beautiful weather year round and love to work on our tan whenever we get the chance.
Q: What is your favorite memory with your teammates, on or off the field?
My favorite memory would definitely be when we beat Northwestern. We were certainly the underdogs going into that game and everyone had their doubts, no one believed we would win. We used those doubts as motivation and the feeling of our hard work paying off was amazing. Everyone was just so happy; I will never forget that moment.
Q: Tell us a little-known fact about you…
I lived in Kentucky for two years, and I hated it.
Q: What's your favorite class that you've taken at UF, and why?
My favorite class I've taken so far would probably be “the freshmen class” that most athletes are required to take freshman year. Since we had about 24 freshmen on our team, half of our class was lacrosse players so it was always a good time.
Q: What do you want to do after you graduate?
After I graduate, I want to continue to grad school to study Occupational Therapy. Also, a bunch of us are thinking about staying at UF an extra semester, so we'll see what happens.
Q: If you could take a trip anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Probably Australia. I have heard nothing but great things about that place, and I just love Australian accents.
Q: What is your favorite tv show?
Vampire Diaries!!! Many of our teammates watch this show and told my roommates and me to start watching it. It is currently on the third season and we caught up in about three weeks… we are obsessed!
Q: Top 5-10 most-played songs on your iPod:
1. “We Found Love” - Rhianna
2. “Rain is a Good Thing” - Luke Bryan
3. “Young, Wild and Free” - Wiz Khalifa
4. “Bait a Hook” - Justin Moore
5. “The Motto” - Drake
6. “Rack City” - Tyga
7. “Tattoos on this Town” - Jason Aldean
Q: What has been the key to integrating the new players into this team that's been together since the beginning?
We had very high expectations for the freshmen coming into this year and they have definitely exceeded those expectations. They work so hard and fit in so well with our team and have been a huge asset to our success so far this season.
