Blair and Bragg Earn Big 12 Player of the Week Honors

This is Blair’s second Big 12 weekly award and Bragg’s fourth of the season
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Freshman midfielder Autumn Blair and Senior defender Theresa Bragg have earned Big 12 player of the week honors following their performances against USF and Cincinnati this past week, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.
Blair was named freshman of the week, her second honor of the season, and Bragg was named defender of the week, her fourth honor of the season her fourth. This is the ninth straight week that a UF player has earned a Big 12 Player of the Week award and sixth time at least two UF players were named.
Autumn Blair
In the 12-11 win over Jacksonville, Blair scored her first career hat trick, while going 1.000% on free position shots and causing one turnover. Against Cincinnati, the Downingtown, Pa. native once again registered three points, this time with two goals and an assist, setting her point streak to eight games in a row, as she helped the Gators win 16-5 and capture the Big 12 regular season championship. Over the two games, Blair tallied six points (5 G/1 A)
Theresa Bragg
In the games against Jacksonville and Cincinnati, Bragg was once again tasked with defending both team's best players. Against Jacksonville, Bragg held Ainsley Scruggs to zero points, below Scruggs' 3.23 points per game she had entering the game and the first time she has been held scoreless this season, while adding two caused turnovers. Against Cincinnati, Bragg was able to hold Paige Selhorn, who entered fifth in the nation in points (90), to just one goal and one assist, while also causing a turnover and groundball.
The No. 5/5 Gators are back in action this Saturday, April 25th at noon when they take on UC Davis at Donald R. Dizney Stadium as they celebrate Senior Day.
