
Gator Track & Field Heads to Austin for Texas Relays

The No. 1 Florida men and No. 11 Florida women descend upon Austin for the 85th Annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, Wednesday-Saturday, March 28-31. The four-day event, hosted by the University of Texas, Austin, will take place at Mike A. Myers Track Stadium.
In all, the Texas Relays host 200 university and college teams and 631 high school teams with entries adding up to 2,212 university/college athletes and 4,179 high school athletes. This year also features 136 invitational athletes preparing for Olympic trials for a total of 6,527 entries. That is a huge leap from 2011 when there were 4,948 entries.
The Texas Relays will be televised by the Longhorn Network, beginning with coverage from Wednesday's action from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. ET. Thursday's event coverage will be shown from 8-10 p.m. ET and from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. ET. Friday's events from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. ET will be live on the Longhorn Network with additional coverage from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. ET and 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. ET. On Saturday the channel will show coverage from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. ET.
The first day of competition features the multi-events, as sophomore Brittany Harrell (McComb, Miss.) begins the first leg of the women's heptathlon. Harrell will compete in the 100 meter hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200 meter dash on Wednesday beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET.
