Max Garcia, a former starter on the offensive line for Maryland, has signed a conference aid agreement with the University of Florida head coach Will Muschamp announced Monday.
Garcia, a 6-foot-4, 290 pound offensive lineman from Norcross, Ga., started 12 games for Maryland in 2011. He will have to sit out a year of competition per NCAA transfer rules, but will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Garcia played in two games as a freshman at Maryland in 2010. He earned Honorable Mention All-Georgia honors (5A) as a senior at Norcross High School and earned All County first-team honors as a junior.
“We are excited to have Max be a part of our 2012 signing class and our offensive line unit,” said Muschamp.
