University of Florida women's tennis head coach Roland Thornqvist addressed the media Monday morning as part of the Gators' All-Sports Media Day.
The Gators (21-1) won their third consecutive Southeastern Conference Tournament title by defeating Tennessee (4-0), Ole Miss (4-0) and Georgia (4-1) and earned the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Championship.
The 64-team NCAA field will be announced on Tue., May 1 at 5:30 p.m. ET on www.NCAA.com, with the names of the NCAA Singles & Doubles participants unveiled on May by 6 p.m. First and second round matches will be played May 11 & 12 on campus sites to be announced on May during the selection show.
The Gators have won 18 of the 25 SEC Tournament titles (1982, '90, '91, '92, '93, '95, '96, '97, '98, '00, '02, '03, '04, '05 , '06, '10, '11 & '12). Georgia has claimed six crowns (1983, '94, 2001 & '07, '08, '09), while Ole Miss captured the 1999 tournament.
