UF officials unveiled the finishing touches on the renovation of the South End Zone stadium project, one of the byproducts of Coach Charley Pell's organizational skills when it came to rallying the boosters for the sake of facility upgrades.
Believe it or not, back in the 1970s, UF's overall facilities were among the most antiquated (if not dilapidated) in the Southeastern Conference.
The south end zone expansion project of that era upped Florida Field's seating capacity from 62,800 to 72,000 and also included improvements to the athletic training center, skybox tower and press box.
