In the season opener at Rice, freshman quarterback Cris Collinsworth threw a 99-yard touchdown pass to Derrick Gaffney in the fourth quarter to cap the scoring in a 48-3 rout at Houston.
The play tied for the longest pass completion in NCAA history -- just a hunch, but here's betting it's a record that won't be broken -- yet it represented just a chunk of UF's offensive production.
Thirteen different ball carriers totaled 302 rushing yards for Coach Doug Dickey that day, led by Terry LeCount's 90 yards.
